No strings attached > I am looking to “donate” free of charge to a non-commercial, permanent home my six (6) Discus in the Seattle WA area. Due to frequent business travel, I have decided to shut down my tank, and would like to find a good home for my six friends.
Here is some background and information:
- the six Discus were purchased together from Mac’s Discus in the Seattle WA area in October 2002.
- the Discus range in body size from 4 to 5 inches, and are various strains/types
- the quality overall of the fish is “good”, a 6 out of 10. Not the quality of fish that you would see posted at Simply Discus, but better than the Local Fish Stores in the Seattle area.
- As a result of the quality of these fish, the best permanent home or keeper for these fish may be a beginner/notice who is just getting into Discus. These fish will not be of interest to the Discus veteran or expert keeper.
- The current home of these 6 Discus is a 50 Gal Acrylic Tank, no gravel or plants in the Tank. As a result, they like the space the tank provides
- All fish are extremely healthy, very good body profiles and are hearty eaters (mainly Bloodworms and Formula 1 Diet)
- Because all fish were purchased together, they get along well together in the tank, i.e. there is very limited fighting, chasing
- As part of the donation, I also have one Minature Bristle-Nose Pleco, who thrives on keeping the algae under control in the tank
Conditions of Donation:
- The intention of the new owner must be to keep the Discus, and not resell them (i.e. these fish need a non-commercial, permanent home)
- I will not ship the Fish > new owner should be located in the greater Seattle area, and will pick up the Fish at my residence
- I would prefer to keep all the 6 Discus together and donate to the same owner, but this will depend on the Tank size (and the Pleco too, of course!)
- Fish Food will also be included as part of the donation (i.e. Blood Worms, Formula 1, etc.)
