Thought this old thread from earlier in the year would be of interest to some of you. David talks about his Scarlet Spotted and Crimson Spotted Discus, and their differences. He claims that his Crimson Spotted are finer quality than his Scarlet Spotted (!) since the former has smaller spots, while the latter has higher body. According to Jeff, the Scarlet Spotted was the one that got Grand Champion at Aquarama. ;)

Hi Lance,

First of all, I'll have to say that I don't weigh Crimson over the Scarlet, or vice versa, as they are both the hardwork of Jackson and mine.

As for more details of the lineage of the Champ, please refer to the similar thread posted by Jeff... ;)

Lance I believe what david wants to put across was that Crimson has finer spots on their body whereas Scarlet is different being some of the spots are joint and formed a nice pattern. I have seen all those babies from young and they are an awesome fish..the hardwork put into breeding them has to be recognize IMO.

They are both good looking fish i like them both i would by them both also the ss on your site is nice david congratulations on your hard work david and jackson keep up the good work i saw your site a while ago before the awards i had a feeling you where going to take this one

Man-oh-man,
Both of those are AWESOME fish. Thanks so much Sly photos of both fish. I still can't pick which one I like the best. Both of those are incredible fish. David, just get some available here to the U.S. so I can buy some of BOTH strains!!! ;D
