Hi Everyone,
I am looking for a less expensive but effective alternative to Prime for dechlorination. Does anyone have any experience with Amquel? It can be purchased at Big ALs for like $28 a gal. I think someone recently posted a generic alternative as well. I am open to suggestions. Thanks for your input.

If you don't mind spending the money on shipping ClorAm-X® is a dry powder water conditioner that detoxifies and removes ammonia, chlorine and chloramines in both fresh and salt water. I would look in your local area for it. With it you can ship live animals without toxic ammonia problems for 72+ hours. Can be combined with antibiotics and anesthetics. Completely safe for biofilters. Tested with fish, shrimp, shellfish, aquatic invertebrate. I get mine in 5 lb pails and it will treat 18,794 gallons or 71,143 liters. 100 gallons of water requires 0.426 ounces or 12.1 grams of it. Look on the net for it but my 5lb pail cost me less than Big Als 1 gallon bottle of Amquel and I bet you it last longer too.
