I've got a plexiglass 100 gallon long with pretty much pristine water conditions for discus, 82 degree's, 5 blue ram, 2 koi angelfish and 3 discus, but for some reason the discus and koi shy away to one corner of the tank at almost all times of the day, I've tried everything from removing decorations to rearranging them but cannot get them to come out, they are showing fine coloration, no peppering or stress bars...any suggestions?

How long have they been in the tank?
Do they come out of hiding when you are not in the room?
Are they eating?
What's your water change schedule?

Been in the tank about a week in a half now, they're eating live bloodworm only, but I haven't tried starving them a little bit to see if they'll take anything else, changing out 10 gallons of water every day. The only time they really come out of hiding is when I'm in front of the tank and they're hungry.

Angels and Discus together is not really recommended.

Arent you the person who was going to get the 125 gallon tank?

Yes Tristan, and a lot of people have varied opinions about angelfish and discus, I personally think it's fine as long as the ratio is proper and you remove the angelfish when they get much larger if they are outcompeting for food, as for parasites they're immune to, you take a gamble with all fish you get.

I tried a hunch and went out and bought 10 cardinal tetra and another larger discus and now they're schooling together and displaying much better behavior, they're even eating colorbits.

Check

1. Water, nitrit and nitrat values...
2. Heater
3. Filtersystem...
4 etc.

It's sounds as a problem with to much food?, to many fishes?, do you have a good filtering system? Change water get fast bad if you don't have good filter. 25% waterchange every day when feeding very hard is to small.

here's my guess.
A. they just need a little more time.
B. small amounts of AM, due to being a new tank.
