I have never used wood in a discus tank? my buddy was throwing these out. they were once in a reptile tank, so i'm sure i'll have to treat them in some fashion. Any advice?

Im not sure about wood in a reptile tank however scrubbing and washing it down, boiling and baking it will 'cure' the wood to ensure nothing is possibly transferred. This process I do with any and all drift wood before it enters my tanks. ;) I rather be safe than sorry. ;D

Hmmmm...I could probably fit it into the oven (boy will my wife love that!) but i'm pretty sure I don't have a pot big enough to boil it in! LOL!!

I used my wife's canning pot to boil my driftwood. It still didnt fit so I stuck one end in at a time until the whole driftwood was done.

I'd soak it a good long time in a dilute vinegar solution. There's no telling what kind of nasty waste byproducts have leeched into the wood.

I think i'm gonna just dump it. Unless anyone here wants it?
