Is plaster of paris safe for discus? I'm going to use it to cover holes at the bottom of pots that I am thinking of using for breeding cones.

Don't know about P of P , but I cover the holes with a dab of silicone. Works great.

P of P is a calcium base so you may see some fluctuations in hardness. I would agree with Richman.......use silicone.

Double that! I once used cement weights within a water holding tank without realizing that the cement in them affected the hardness and ph of the water. What a mess-but a very good lesson learned.
