new to discuss and have a question

Hello,

I have kept fish for years but have always been afraid to keep discuss. Now, I am going to face my fears and decide to start a discuss tank. I will probably get a 75 gallon tank and would like to use the Emporer 400 power filter. Will this filter produce to much current for the discuss. I like this filter because it has a variable water flow to increase or decrease the water flow.

It should be fine. You can also put it toward one end of the tank, then there will be areas of higher flow and areas of calmer flow.

My discus don't mind higher flow and I like a lot of water movement and filtration.

Current isn't the problem. Noise, difficulty cleaning, lack of room in the filter box and expensive pads make it much less attractive than an Aqua Clear 500 with two foam inserts. The aqua clear is cheaper too! look at www.petsolutions.com
