Hi,
I have a 600litre planted discus tank with just 12 adult discus in. I got the discus from a breeder and they were all doing well and feeding for a while until 1 then another started hiding at the back in the plants all the time and didnt cum out for feeding with the others. I treated them with a huey hung general and bacteria killer. This didnt work so i then decided to split was now 3 of the 12 into a separate hospital tank and treated them with matranidazole for 5 days and i raised the temp to 95f for about 2 weeks. This didnt really work so i decided i would put them back in main tank. They look fine and bright from the outside but have not eaten for about 3 weeks. I have now put them back in the main tank and 2 are hiding again but the other 1 swims about with the others but when u put food in is not interested at all. They just hide and dont eat and i think ive tried everything please can someone hellp i am lost as what to do now. I am desperate for them to get back like the others.

Did you dose 400 - 500 mg metro per 10 gallons everyday after a 50% water change for 3 -5 days with the temperature in the tank at 92+ degrees during treatment?

I DOSED ABOUT 700MG EACH DAY AFTER THE 5O% WATER CHANGE FOR 5 DAYS WITH THE TEMP AT 95F DURING TREATMENT THIS WAS FOR A 20 GALLON TANK. WHAT DO U THINK COULD BE THE PROBLEM? DO U THINK I DIDNT DOSE STRONG ENOUGH FOR THE TANK?WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO GET METRO APART FROM MY LOCAL VETS?

700 mg for a 20 gallon (really 18 gallon) tank is plenty of metro and the temp was fine - intestinal flagelletes may not be the problem. You already added anti biotics and that didn't help.

Perhaps it is water quality or harassment from the other fish.

Do you have canister filters? You might try cleaning out your filters in used tank water. What is your water change regimen?
