How long does it take to grow out discus? Your buying, from a breeder, 1 1/2' to 2" discus. Temp 88 deg. F, feeding 4 to six times a day. Water changes daily.

So in 9 moths more or less the discus won't get any bigger. So how do you feed it then?

They may still grow a little more after a year old and will certainly fill out. At this point you can cut feedings to twice per day. I feed a fresh or frozen meaty item for dinner and a flake or pellet for breakfast.

They will continue to grow past a year old. Aslong they have been feed well and had quality water changes.
