it started with a filter overheating and quiting-also i am in buff and the temp outside is below 0 degrees so my tank temp droped down to 82-i fixed the filter and a day later noticed white patches all over thier bodies-there are 8 discus total but only these two showed this-they started to hide and not eating-i read alot of forums here and i did a major 75%water change and added some epsome salt about 1 table spoon to 4gallons-i raised the temp up to 89degrees slowly by adding anther heater and stoped at the lfs and bought some ampicillex (antibiotic) he said not to add salt?i followed the directions and it is now day two since i put the antibiotic in and the spots are going away is there any thing else i should do!i do not like seeing my fish sick! thanks freeked out and afraid to do more harm than good

Hi,
If what you are doing is working, then continue.

I have used noniodized salt many times (different than epsom salt, epsom salt is a laxative)
