what do you attact it to so it will grow? I have wired to a rock right now.

Riccia, by its nature, is a floating plant. It does not attach, by itself. You have it wired to rocks and eventually it will grow beyond the wire and you will have to continually re-wire it. Its a lot of maintenance.!! Some people use gravel/stones to weigh it down, but eventually it will even get around that method and you will have to continually put weights on it.

It takes a LOT of maintenance - you have to regularly prune it close to the rocks, etc... or else the lower layers will die (because the upper layers grow too thick). After that, you have a whole bunch of pieces floating at the surface, so you need to skim that with a net. This has to be at least once a week or more often, depending on how well the riccia is growing.
