I'm gathering all the info I can find on Blue Rams and Emperor tetras as discus tankmates. Both are reccomended in the book I have, but I've seen conflicting opinions on the web.

What do you folks have to say on the subject?

Blue ram make excellent tank mates, both live in almost identical water conditions and since discus prefer the mid to top level of the tank and blue ram are bottom dwellers it would fill out the open spaces nicely.

I wouldn't use any type of tetra but cardinal or rummynose in my tank and even then you need to quarantine for at least 2 months since they're wild caught and carry every disease known to man...

Rummynose can be an excellent indicator of when somthings going wrong in the tank, if they don't look like rudolph the red nosed reindeer all the time then somthings definately off...
