I'm looking at getting some red worms and wondering what your thoughts are on the Vermicomposting Bin that can house these fellas. http://www.wormman.com/bin.htm
good or indifferent to say a rubbermaid plastic container?

Hi Jean, I have 5 culture bins going now... 2 are in plastic rubbermaid type bins, and the 3 are in old styro shipping boxes.. They all work fine and didn't cost much...I recently gave away 3 more cultures in styros as well and they are doing fine last I heard.... I guess my answer is... save the money for more fish :)

Jean, I also have one large culture of redworms. I have them in a big rubbermaid bin. I drilled small holes in the bottom and holes in the lid. They are doing great. The fish love them.

Good luck,

Any other questions call or IM me.

Jean,

I received one of those worm cultures from Al in a styro bins and, yes, they are doing great!

I had tried several times on my own to get a culture started and I kept making the mistake of letting the bedding get too wet. The worms get annoyed and abandon ship! Then you have lots of dried out worms. Al's was started off right and that makes a big difference!
