Yep, That's Miss Nut. :) Kitti went whole hog for the flower horns and the market has dropped, He's trying to regain his lost buisness. Most of the discus breeders in Asia who started raising the hybrid cichlid are going back to discus. He is one of the top breeders of new color strains. I've bought lots of fish from them in the past.

:o :o I've rec'd them twice over past yr, think it's called "marketing". They get the email addresses, probably from the forums & alert you to what they are & what they have for sale. A really good process to sell products, tho many of us are skeptical & don't want to receive'm. I do believe that the Kitti farm is very well known & has produced some particular color morphs over time, just another retailer. JMO, Dottie ;D

Well.... not exactly. Marketing is supposed to consist of the 4 "P's":

-Price
-Product
-Promotion (including advertising which paid promotion)
-Placement (or distribution)

By adjusting all of these 4 "P's", one can improve product sales/ services. For example, obviously if your price isn't what the customer is willing to pay, you won't be able to sell your product. And if your targeting the promotions tp wrong customers for your products (ie. circular saws to 2 year olds), that won't work either.

(okay that's all in theory - but I do have my bachelor's degree in marketing - personally, I prefer the marketing research aspect - analysis of customer's preferences, perception, sales trends, etc... yes, when people stop and hand out questionaires, or do phone surveys, I gladly participate and try to figure out what information they are trying to get from me. And if the telemarketer's not nice, I tell them that too! heh heh). ;D ;D ;D

LOL, well, I really didn't mind getting the e mail. It was obviously something pertaining to a subject that I'm interested in, so I figured that it was targeted at me for that reason. No harm no foul, guess I coulda been a little better at getting that across.
On the other hand, I had never heard of them, and I get suspicious when an overseas retailer wants to sell me something, but won't take otherwise common methods of payment.

Where's the ACA going to be held? Is that in Dallas?

ACA will be in Denver this year in Jully www.aca2004.com , Dallas next summer. FYI Kitti is a major breeder who is credited with developing the pigeonblood, marlboro red and many other discus color strains, He is a wholesaler and you need an U.S. Fish and Wildlife Import Permit to import fish from overseas.

I've received a couple of those e-mails....
I have some Kitti fish.....one was a 2.5 inch pigeon which I bought for $15.....now, after 6 months, the fish is perfectly round, total body pearl, and 5.5 inches.

Yep! Posted a message here about it. Haven't received any lately, however. I've tossed them out. I think that there is an individual in Aquabid that has the same handlename (kitti??) or one similar to it. --angie--
