hi peteypob,
those foreground plants were bought from a aquatic plant farm here in Singapore.

don't remember its sciencific name but here we call it APP, name after the old man who owns the plant farm.

APP = Ah pek plant.
ah pek means old man in chinese.

Hi Mervin,

Do you mind sharing with us all your regime (maintenance program) and what is your tank set up (do you have gravel filters along with canister filters, how many heaters and wattage size do you have working, etc...etc..)?

Your setup is truly a sight of beauty. ;)

Wow that is a very nice set-up ;D, i'm just wondering how your maintenance schedule is like, I'm currently new to Discus and are raising some on a planted tank, but due to frequent cleaning and water changes some of my plants seems to be effected by it.... Those Angels and Discus looks amazing together

Hi Mervin,

what is the size of the discus you brought from Gan as $55?
How many you brought because i don't think he will sell 1 for $55
Also as what temperature do you keep your discus at?

Lastly I must say you have a great looking tank.I assume your plants are from Teo.

Cheers

hi falcon,
thanks for the mail.

anyway, i do not know the strains and if i'm not wrong there is only 1 type of altums.

the lack of colour of the black bars is due to my bright lights, lights off and the black bar will show.

here are some OLD pics of the same fishes with not so bright lights.

Mervin, now in the second picture, the altums look more like the altums I know. In the first one the light gave them light golden tones and they looked really nice - still of all the angels, I like the altums the best.

I have a community, planted discus tank and from the beginning I wanted to add altums in there. Still haven't, trying to debate the whole issue of compatability and bacteria spread. Some people keep them together and they're happy. I am tempted to add a couple or so.

Hey Falcon, go ahead and add it the altums. Believe discus and altums can be found together in the wild.

However, as usual with any new fishes....just ensure that they are healthy 1st.

;D
