Has anyone came up with a solvent that will easily remove the printing on PVC pipe? Have tried my favorite, acetone, which removes most of it but still leaves a goast of the printing.

The PVC cleaner that is used in plumbing works well. You should find it next to the PVC glue

Why are you trying to remove the print off of the pipe?? It wont leach into the tank as the ink they use to put it on is chemically bonded. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the feedback. I had tried laq thinner and acetone which had always felt was the top solvents. They removed some but not all. Want to thank Slicksta, read the contents on the PVC cleaner (never buy proprietary products, too expensive) and saw the MEK was an ingredient. Bought some MEK and it does remove everything!!!! Need to do it outside as the fumes are really wicked.

Hi all,
I believe MEK(Methyl Ethyl Keytone?) is an ingredient in carb cleaner. I remember a discussion I had with a Vette tech when I wanted to clean out my engine about it. You are right on, Aggie........That stuff is really wicked with fumes!
