hello again folks, im back with another question or 2. well i went to home depo and bought a light fixture (shop light) and its hella cheaper than * aquarium strips *.....its a double 48" light with t8 32watt bulbs for a 75g. do ya think imma blind my future discus 8)* empty tank right now *its a bare bottom and plan to add a few hearty plants on a piece of driftwood and a few floating plants to break up the lighting. last question i have i have a AC500 on that 75g. should i add a hydro sponge or should i be ok with that...i plan to add older discus in hopes to get a pair nothin to young .... and does anyone elses AC 500 seem to be pushin out harder than others? thanks for the replies in advance-----Andy M

Lights don't bother my discus, but I keep a small room light on all the time so as not to starte them. The AC 500 with two interior sponges should be enough, but you can add an airdriven sponge too.

I had a 2 lamp 4' fixture above my 30G for a long time. No problems. ;)
