Hi all, I'm not a newbe but have a question about a freinds new settup,55gal tank,two200watt titanium heaters,an AC500 from my 125,and one kid who has never had fish in his life. ::)the question comes later.He seen some of my discus that I was going to cull,and said he would like to save them and give them a good home.Got the tank set up and tested everything ,all seems well but kh,and ph.Ph at my house is 8.2 Ph at his house is 9.4 and kh is 15 drops of the test kit. :oThe question is can you even keep discus at that Ph and if so how do I aclumate these poor fish to their new home without disaster! ???

You can probably just plop them in, but to be on the safe side. . . . take them over in a bucket with water barely above their fins. Drip in warm, aged (pH 9.4) water through an airline. Probably be a good idea to have air in the bucket too. Double the water in the bucket over an hour or so and then plop them in the new tank.
