View Full Version : Games of the XXVIII Olympiad
In honor of the commencement of Games of the XXVIII Olympiad, I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's favorite event was. Since I was limited to 8 by the board software, I chose 8 of the more popular ones. If your favorite isn't listed, please tell us which one it is.

Hi all,
Nice showing by the men's b-ballers ::) I think we need the old-school back to show them how it's done! 19-point spankin, what a joke!

I love all of the events - and would watch whatever they showed!
Of course I'm trying to sneak in what I can when I'm not painting, moving, loading, etc. Didn't anyone tell the coordinators not to schedule things right in the middle of my move?
Steve- As far as basketball goes... they don't play basketball in the NBA anymore - they play slammin', foulin' ballhoggin' hacksketball. Iverson being the ultimate posterboy for this!
I can't stand it anymore!
>:(

What I don't like is the lack of TV coverage of some of the events. It seems that so many are left out... or they show snippets at wee hours of the night, when most people are sleeping.
I WANT TO SEE EQUESTRIAN EVENTS!!!
Dottie... help me out here!! ;D

Swimming for me - but only because us Aussies have the best in the world ;D
Judi, im with ya on the equestrian events, but we get the Equestrian coverage in the day time here in Oz. i was watching the dressage yesterday - it was awesome watching those gorgeous horses strutting their stuff.
I was up at 2.30am this morning to watch Thorpie beat Phelps in the swimming
Yippy
Phelps was far behind with the flying dutchman..I forgot his name and it's hard to pronounce give thorpe a run for his money.
Kerry,
I guess I should have made a trip to Oz, so I could watch them. :-\
Judi

Sly, you mean "Hoogie"? Vanden Hoogen Van or something - lol - they call him Hoogie now, much eaiser. its good to see that all the swimmers are great sportsmen and seem like theyre all great mates, regardless of who wins. Thorpie just seems to get that "spurt" on when he needs it - wish i had his black swimming suit - lol :o
Judi and Tad, youd love it here, horse events in the day, and beach volleyball ( women and men ) is always on right across from where i live on the beach every weekend ;)
Kerry,
What have ya got for putting Tad's eyeballs back in the sockets, from watching all the Women's Beach Volleyball???? ;D

:bounce2: :bounce2: Yes Judi, I totally agree. Would love to be down under right now & watch the equestrians, Kerry, never see that up here, & if there in the middle of the night, I'm not up to see it. & yes I miss them, have to be satisfied to watch the gymnastics & aquatics. BUT!! Then there's TENNIS!! Where are the tennis matches???????? Never get to see them either!! Both my interests are on the last page, da$$it!!! What does that tell you?? Then I'm into DISCUS!! & I find out that everyone in cichlid world thinks discus ppl are nuts (& so does everyone else) & discus aren't even fish?????? & Even my career choice was looked down upon, lol, whatever!!!
& Judi, the women's volleyball?? What about those gals that are swinging their hips & "bodies" around before & during the games?? They are being called a "distraction"!! Bet all the guys would love to be there for that huh? Tad?? Some of them are gorgeous!! Dottie :D :D :D

In Tad's defence, like me i'm sure it's only the athletic ability's shown in the womens beach volleyball that he appreciates ;D
