Tank Wipe Down

Question came to mind today. Say only stupid question is one not asked, so here goes.

When you wipe down tank walls, are you doing only the dry part exposed during water change, or the entire wall (even thepart under water?) I assumed it was only the exposed portion, getting the BH oily film which would be on the water surface, but then I read it was to remove excess discus slime?

Hi, I wipe above and below water level, the bottom and even the airlines. I get what I assume is discus slime on the walls and bottom.

Don't forget to wipe down the heaters too. I also squeeze out my sponges weekly.

I wipe down the whole tank including heaters, airlines, tank lids, etc... everyday.
