Jeanne is supposed to be in my area Sunday morning-aft. I heard that they are actually calling a condition "storm syndrome". I bet I can guess the symptoms. I've got it!!! And we didn't even get affected by Charley or Ivan. The FL Gator game got moved from 6pm to 11:30am because of her! I'll be heading up in the morning. I've been in denial, but I guess I have to start filling bathtubs and water bottles again. :P Janice
Boy, oh boy! Feel for those folks on the outer lower skirts of our great country. Look on the bright side, think of it as a most needed cleansing. Perhaps these storms can become productive in cleaning the other side of the world.
Best of luck to you, Janice!
Best Regards,

A good friend lives in Melbourne, I sure hate to see it come up on the strike maps again. I don't know how far they are from the beach but sometimes it just doesn't matter...

You got that right. We live 2 1/2 hours from Daytona inland and we're in the path.

I lived in the Everglades for a few years, and I don't envy you. The worst part was preparing for the storm that never came. You were grateful there was no storm, but hated running around and getting ready for every storm that showed up on the weather channel. Hope that everything is OK for you down there.

Oh, no, the worst thing was when it was a direct hit and you lost so many precious things forever. My mother found the gravy boat from Grandmother's china about a half mile from the house -- every other piece was lost. We lost all the Christmas decorations too, mom spent years making things from scratch. I think that first year was white paper birds or something.
I for one am sick of it. They said it will be stronger than Frances but not last as long. People in my neighborhood are also sick of it. Everyone waited to the last minute to put up shutters hoping it would turn. My wife and I were up at 6 am and putting up shutters at 6:30 am in the dark. Other people were also doing the same thing. good luck with another major hurricane

Same to you. Everyone is weary. Supposed to be here late afternoon now. The good news is that I cleaned out the 20 gal Rubbermaid garbage can I bought a long time ago for the discus and have it filled with water. I'm one step ahead of the last one. My son is a senior in high school and we keep teasing him that he may never graduate at this rate. ;)
On the high side, the Gators won today!!! Actually, I liked the 11:30 game! And because of the light sprinkles now and then and the fast moving cloud cover it was a beautiful day at the Swamp. GO GATORS! My daughter is in grad school and my son is applying to start next year. This family's blood runs orange and blue. (Now for the great family secret...the skeleton in the closet....are you ready???? I graduated from FSU. ::) Good luck everyone in this storm and to your fishies too.
