Gravel Color

Hi

Will gravel affect the color of Discus. I used brown color gravel and my Req Turq color change to brownish in color.

Any comments?

It's known that discus will change their color to a degree depending on the color of their surroundings (including gravel and tank background).

So are lighter colours good or darker colours? What is the best colour for a background? Is there anything wrong with a picture (of various aquatic plants) background?
