New to the board?

I’m new to the board & have a couple of questions! First how come some of the pictures that the posts are talking about don’t show up? Is there something I need to set-up to view pictures in a post? Also is there a list of abbreviations that are used here like these: &gt / 1/4&quot / &quot / T&quot ?

We recently switched to new software. Pics did not transfer, and the odd symbol words are remnants of smileys that did not transfer either. :)

Thanks that clears things up! I'm registered to several other saltwater BB's that use "vBulletin" so I'm use to the layout & format. I just couldn't figure the pictures out!
