Hi
I purchase a couple of tanks and they came with T-5 lighting. I have a 48" bulb on a 75 gallon tank and boy it's pretty dang bright. Does it hurt the discus with such a bright light. I notice that they are not hanging around the top like before. I want to purchase a few more because the person is giving me a deal but only if it does not hurt the discus.
Thanks
Kenny

Hi Kenny,
Your discus might not just don't get used to the new enviorment instead. The T5 is just provide 15%(approx.) more bright to a regular T12 40W. So are you sure it's regular T5 or T5HO. That really give a lot of extra.

Look at the ballast, or the lamp itself, for 48' should be 54w for T5HO, regular 48' is around 34w if I'm not mistaken.

I checked and I don't have the T-5 HO. I guess it's the regular ones. I will give them a few days to get use to and go fom there.
Thanks for the response
