Preparing New Storage Containers

Bought a rubbermaid brute can from Home Depot today.
Any suggestions on what to use to rinse it out?
Do you wipe down the sides with anything besides rinsing?

PS. I got one special wife to allow this in the master bedroom. LOL!

just wash out well wipe the sides, rinse well and use.

i rinsed mine with tap water and dryed it out then wiped it down with some alchol just in case something bad was in there never know

Sorry for not getting back on this. Thanks for the advice. I agree the alcohol is good pre-caution action to take.
