Hello guys,

This is Eurogalex from Spain, nice to meet you.

Here is my 450 liters tank, as you can see I love planted tanks and wild discus. I´ve 2 Jatapu blue and 2 Tefe green.

I wait for your comments and critiques.

Hi Eurogalex,

With so much discussion going on about discus in a planted tank, could you tell us how the discus are doing? Any diseases? What are your water parameters? What size are the discus? Did they grow in this tank? What's your feeding and water change regiment?

With a tank like that going, it looks you're doing something right :)

Your tank is beautiful! Plants look healthy and your fish too. Is that glosso for your carpet? The star grass and e. stallata are awesome. I placed an order for some stargrass, babytears, and e. stallata, hope the grow to fill out like that! What equipment are you running?

The photos are when the tank had 3 months from setup, nowadays, 2 months later, I´m changing some plants, I will post the changes.

I change 20% of water three times per week, It has 360 watt, good light, and add co2.

PH 6.2
KH 2-3
no3 5 mg/l adding it.
po4 0.1 - 0.25 mg/l

The only problem that I´ve found is the light, discus doesn´t like very much.

I bought the discus when adults, I will buy two more once I find the proper ones.

That is one of the most beautiful tanks I have seen! You should get in touch with some of the book publishers and/or authors, and see if they would be interested in those pictures. Could you tell us what kind of filtration and substrate you are using? I am in the UK and visit the south of France at times, do you have a recommendation for aquarium shops to visit? Also-what type of fertilization do you do? Do you use RO water? I may have my honeymoon in Spain this summer, so I would love to hear your views of shops in Spain.

Very nice setup! It's unusual to see a tank w/beautiful plants & discus. Normally, it's either got nice plants & stunted fish or vise versa. Good job.

Great tank. I like the placement. I would really love to know everything about your tank. I know you do 3 w/c a week. BUt, what about all the other stuff like ferts, lights,temps. And I really personaly want to know what problems your fish have had and how you went about fixing the problem.

In my case I always move my fish to a QT tank and make them better, but then there is still the same nastys floating around my main tank infecting my cleaner fish. So making my fish better was kinda piontless if they just get sick again in the main tank. I hate throwing chemicals in the main tank as well becuase it always hurts my plants and brings back my BBA as well as being very ineffeective IMO. Anyways.... Give us the low down in how you keep up with this tank.
