strangest non-aquarium equiptment

before I started with discus and angles, I have the usual collected of 'sold in LPS' fish-keeping equiptment, but now I have amassed some things that non fish keepers(poor fools) might find strange:

TURKEY BASTER (i have never basted a turkey)... suck up brine shrimp etc.
COFFEE FILTER (i don't drink coffee)..... strain brine shrimp
STOCKING/PANTYHOSE (NO!, i don't wear them)...strainer,foam filter cover, biobag etc
GLASS CUTTER (usually glass cuts me).... make own tanks
MARBLES ( I've lost a few)... weigh down plastic plants, box filters etc
EMPTY 2LT soda bottles (never kept empty bottles before)....hatch brine shrimp in
SMALL DRINKING STRAWS (usuall drink straight from the containers)...used to attach airhose to pumps ,wont get hot and stick)

a few more things that havent crossed my mind as yet, are lurking around...

ohoo yeah TWEEZERS (leave my eyebrows alone) ... had to take gravel out a greedy goldfish mouth on a few times.

In addition to those you've already mentioned:

Baby bottle brush ( :lipsrseal )... great for cleaning filter parts.

Kitchen shears (don't cook, so no need for them in the kitchen)... good for cutting tubing.

Empty Oxy Clean buckets (I do laundry, but NOT windows :D )... much smaller than the 5-gal buckets, and good for sterilizing filter sponges, nets, or other small items in bleach solution without tying up the entire laundry room sink or using the bigger bucket.

Funnel (I dress up as the Tin Man for Halloween)... bought salt in 25-lb bag, so use the funnel to get it into smaller container.

I'll add a cheese grater to the list, i use it to fine grate beef heart mix for baby discus. People come over and think i feed cheese to the fish...lol.

Hey, wasn't it Carol who uses a Salad shooter for making beef heart?

I use plastic drinking cups for defrosting food. Rubber bands for tying plants and filters.

i wouldn't reccommend using rubberbands in the tanks , cause when thouse things burst and shoot across the tank it might just hit ur fav discus

LoL, I have sum friends like that. He called my pleco in my comunity tank a ***** cuz it sucked on everything.

McDonald's straw.....If you were a slurper as a kid, the kind that pulled the straw out of the cup filled with soda, then you required the skill necessary to use a straw to remove wrigglers that strayed onto the sponge away from it's siblings:P Besides, I don't have a turkey baster......yet!!:)

2-ft Long bamboo Chopsticks!!!
Epoxy a clear 3/16" rigid air tubing down the side of it and it makes an awesome siphon for the small fry tank!
