I purchased an established breeding pair from Gulf Coast Discus.

Today after a water change, the male has stacked the female into the top corner of their tank.

Is this a problem?

Advice please

He wants to mate... she's not in the mood :) Keep an eye on them and if he gets too rough move him or her out for a period of time. Give Dan a call too since he's familiar with the fish..

Hi David, I agree with Jim. Another option would be to put an eggcrate divider between them for a couple of days.

Thanks for the advice

They actually spawned the day before, and ate the eggs within 5 mins.

They were moved to a new tank only on Saturday. I attribute the loss of the eggs, to being new to the tank.

After an hour of chasing last night, the male gave up the persuit, and no damage was done.

Really enjoying my Discus!!! :D
