Quarantine, how long ???

How long should I hold new discus on quarantine before introducing them to my present stock ?

I have been told 6 weeks.

Depends. I let them settle down on the first week. I then treat for parasites and deworm on the 2nd week. I mainly observe them for any signs of diseases and treat accordingly. I test by adding a cull in the tank.

From my experience, I always de-worm new arrivals once they have acclimated to their new home. I've held juveniles in qt for 8 weeks that appeared perfectly healthy, but, added prazi before moving them to the general population just in case... they had worms. So now I do it up front to play safe.
