Well the best way is to learn how to dose nutrients so the leaves don't get any algae at all.

Dosing the water is the easiest, most effective. Plants need NPK and trace/iron. You can read a lot on the subject.

and then you really get sucked into growing plants, you want to grow more and more plants ..... :)

Get some Siamese flying fox, Crossocheilus siamensis
And they will do the job for you.
Be carefull to take the real one (dark line til the very end of the tail)

Remove the leaves that have alge on them. More will grow! :D

Try an algae eater. My rubber lipped pleco kept my tank pretty clean of both green and brown (diatoms) algae.

THIS IS SOOOOO TRUE!!! I now have stems of amazonia swords but lots of white roots rooting from the bed of stones. Thanks!! ;)
And Shalu is sooo right....Now I wanna do more plants. :)
