hi,i have a kinda copper coloured not sure what ,building up on my heater suction's and bracket.Fish do not seem bothered by it.I am wondering if it keeps growing or spreading if it will start to effect them.Does anyone know what this is or has anyone had this. thank-you Dan

Probably diatoms. Just wipe it off. You'll see it start to grow on the glass, heater cords, everything. Small amounts don't hurt anything, but it is unsightly and can harbor bacteria

Had the same in 2 of my tanks, wipe it off, it comes back in a couple of days. one tank is now QTing baby BN plecos, they cleaned that tank like new! they will go into my planted tank after Quarentine period.

Thanks at least it is not a bad thing,i am getting some pleco's after i move so hopefully i get the same results. Thanks for the quick replies Dan
