Hi,
We just got a ( new to us) tank and it needs to be cleaned.
What is the best way to clean the inside glass? The tank
has only been used for fish. :D
Thank you,
Kelly

My approach is to wash with a 20% Clorox solution, rinse off and air dry and you're ready to go. You can also do the same with rubbing alcohol. If the tank has not been used for 2 - 3 weeks, then you don't need to worry about sterilizing it. In that case, wipe it down and rinse a few times.

I use a saturated saline solution unless the tank is REALLY grungy. That way, any salt that remains disolves into the tank water. If you use the Chlorine, you might want to do the rinse with clean water that has a good dose of Prime just to make sure

Thanks for your tip. The tank is very grungy. :)

That's a great tip about the Prime. We use it.

If it's a glass tank, and grungy enough that it needs a mild abrasive... baking soda works well. And again... rinse well afterward.

Razor blades are helpful too :)

we have always used a diluted solution of white vinegar and water and rinse well, it has always worked great for us
