FISHROOM OF THE FUTURE

Hey there, well this is something I do in my past time. I dream about big fish rooms and here are some of my priliminary designs , they are rendered images of ARCHICAD and I am far from finished. This is just the beginign stage. I still got to put in the plumbing, electricity, filters yadda yadda yadda. You get the picture.

I reckon I am about 30% done and I am doin it while I am on holiday. Its a big bugger all right and for the moment I got 120 tanks ( dim 150cm x 50cm X 50cm) in there with more possibilites.

So come on dream with me and if you got suggestions , post em on.

I see you've been influenced in a small part by the New Zealand National Aquarium in Napier! Referring specifically to the part where you walk through the semi-circular glass tunnel that cuts through a large tank.

Hey Peter,

To be honest with you, I havent seen the national aquarium out there, but I am fascinated with circular forms and the idea was to have the two long opaque semi circle screens that you see in my image, mobile. hense they provide shadow to the tanks and move automatically following the sun rise/set. Hense making them rotate in the semi circle glass structure.

You know what, I am re-enventing the wheel here but thats pretty much what everyone seems to be doing these days. LOL.

I see you would rather be in NZ, Peter. When do you plan on coming down cause your more than welcome.........................;;

Cool looking CAD design. I like your design. It looks very much like modern tech of space age era. I can immediately see the designs of fish aquariums becoming like much the shape and form of your designs. :thumbsup:

I won't be able to go back for a few more years (was just there in 03). My wife really wants to go to Europe next year (France, Italy specifically).

I'd like to move to New Zealand, but will be a bit tougher now that I have left the Computer & Controls Industry (highly sought after profession in NZ) and am over 35. Won't have as many immigration points. I'll run my Landscaping/Lawncare company for another 5 years (that's the plan) and see where that lands me.
