They say, “For best results, use only this diet. (their food) Do not alternate this with others such as alternative fish foods or frozen foods.”

Sounds like bad advice to me.

Hi Mark,

I have been using it for about 3 months now and the fish seem to really love it. I was using tetra colorbits and before that Hikari discus food. They switched over tho the Hai feng very readily. Even my one finicky eater likes it.

It doesn't break down into mush like the Hikari, it stays as individual little pellets even after several hours in the tank. The only problem is the stuff is not cheap and it isn't the easiest stuff to get. I had to order directly from a foreign lady in California (actually I am suprised the stuff even got to me with the language barrier and all).

If any of you need it I am a distributor of HaiFeng. I currently have the Super Bits and the Arrowana Food in stock. I can get what you need. Sorry like cousinkenni it's not cheap but it is some real good food. This is just some of the food I use in my different Turkey mixes.

Looks as good as many foods, possibly better. But is the ingredient list complete? I see no mention of ethoxyquin, a preservative in fish meals... I haven't seen dried foods without it. I notice they say it contains colors...not a complete description, could be dyes.
and the lipid ( fats) content seems low for young discus...No?
Ash content is high, possibly indicating the fish meal is made from scales, heads, bones, etc., since there is no spirulina/plant materials listed which would raise the ash content.

I like HF discus bits alot. Its not cheap! The yellow bits( supposed to enhance blue) got buggy on me kinda quick. I visited Wattely's a while ago and Gabe gave out little sample packs of HF "ever nature gold" I have never been able to find the same stuff again. Its a little bigger than the bits
