Hi: I know I have been down this road before but after alot of thought, I need to make some changes. I currently have a 33 gal tank with one 3-4 inch adult discus. It is barebottom. It looks very empty. I was thinking about incorporating some community fish in with the Discus. Any ideas on what type of fishmates I could add to my tank??? Thanks.

Cardinal tetras, and maybe some corydoras catfish.

33 is a little small for a comunity tank, try to get a bigger tank and a couple more discus, they are social fish and do best in pairs or groups.

some tankmates that do well with discus if you have the tank spare are rummy nose and cardinal tetras, rams, and ancistrus type pleco's. I'm sure there are more but those are what I have experience with.

If the tank is just boring to look at, try a couple potted plants or pieces of driftwood, but a 33 is kinda small.
