I know there is a thread with pictures of males and females, but i was wondering if anyone can post a picture of a female which shows the tube that shows when they are spawning for identification purposes. I have no idea what i am looking for. I have a couple of PB discus that have paired off, but i dont know which one is male\female. Does only the male do the shimmering, or does the female? Any pictures would be wonderful.

not the best picture but it gives you an idea. the female tube should be larger rounder, as opposed to the males shorter pointier looking tube.

You can barely see the male genitalia in a well lit bare bottom tank. In your tank, I doubt you can see it at all. The only one you'll see is the female.
