Discus kissing?

3 of my discus are kissing and then shaking their tails in each others faces. Any idea what this might mean? It is not aggressive at all, they just stare at each other then kiss and shake their booties.

Kissing with other types of cichlids is part of the mating ritual, in Discus however it seems to be more of a dominance thing, especially when combined with the tail slap to the face. The only time I've seen two Discus spawn after doing the kissing deal turned out to be two females.

Are they new tank mates?
