black banding?

I have a red turk discus that is about 5" and always has dark black bands all across his body. Had him for almost a year. Will these go away as he matures? Or is this a gene thing? He appears to be very healthy and active. Never had a problem with him. Any thoughts?

How many discus do you have in the tank??

What are your perameters?

5 discus of same size, 3 rams, 8 rubby nose tetras in a 75 gal with wet-dry filter. I use RODI water at approx. 120 tsd. Ph around 7.2, Temp 84 degrees.

Usually the black "stress" bars are less noticible in adults. Excited, stressed, sick and breeding fish all exhibit the bars.
