Gotta admit, nice pair of fish. Great picture too, clean, in focus, no reflections etc.

Hey Lee, look familiar?

The flash washes out the color on the fins and head, the white markings are actually blue.

That female could end up being a very special fish

I just caged off the eggs...they have been eating offspring when the tails pop out at the 48 to 72 hour period. This is 5 spawns in 6 weeks:vanish:

Spice, Kiwi and Jim..thank you
This last batch was not fertile, so I have increased Wcs to 35 percent plus double protein a day. I have the time to be patient, just want the F1s to be healthy. Take care,
Lee

"cameta" is wrong!

I was told by probably the most experienced wild keeper in the States, that the male is a Cameta Brown and the female is a Belem Golden Brown.

I call this one a "Heckel Barred Haraldi"

take care,
Lee

Logan why is Cameta wrong?? I get them in several times a year and my Belem supplier sells them as this, the Cameta fish are a nice deep brown with very little blue striaitons on the face and fins. The Belem browns are more of a honey/brown color. Go farther up river behind the Tucurui Damn and you get very red fish, but they are still browns. These are all collection locations along the same river. The Rio Tocantins.

Lee,

Don't care if cameta is right wrong or indifferent, I love those fish! One of the best pair of wilds and pictures I've seen in a long time.

Thank you.
Paul.
