Neons and cardinals are fine, gouramis are too, but cories are great as well as brittlenose plecos. I also keep yoyo loaches with my discus.

I would avoid Neons with Discus. They cannot handle the temps. Go with Cardinals.

Corys are good. Rams also go well with Discus. IMO, nothing compliments a group of nice Discus like German Blue Rams.

Yep, I didnt know it but my neons were always bordering on death. I raised the temp in my tank about 3 degrees and they all died within minutes. If you cant take the heat, then.............oops, didnt know that about them when I bought them. Another one of those little facts that the LFS left out when I was a newbie.

I've got a pair of Bolivian Rams with my Discus. They don't bother them and vise versa. They seems to tolorate the high temp very well.

I've read that the bolivian rams are easier to keep than the blue or gold rams? Not as colorful but still beautiful.

I have rummy nose tetras, cardinal tetras, corys, rams, zebra danios and even an adult angel in the same tank as my discus and they seem pretty at home, just like one big family so i guess these tankmates are compatible:D

Cardinals, clowns, dwarf gouramis - I like the red honeys best, L-Plecs all work well for me.

I would say that rainbows are almost too fast to keep with discus, though I've seen it done so it's possible. I wouldnt do it. I'll have to go with the others on Blue Rams. If you go that route, try to find a good source.

Hmm,my tank has a siamese flying fox as well and i must say their streamlined bodies make them propel through the water like bullets but they're still pretty compatible with discus.

I currently keep a breeding pair of Honduran red points in my community discus tank along with 3 large roseline sharks rummy nose tetra 3 ghost cats a male and female cherry barb and a dwarf checkerboard chiclid. The Hondurans have spawned almost a dozen times, everybody loves the high protien feed!
