:D Hi Joon, you're in Phila, so look around for a Sam's Club discount store, there are a couple around Phila, if you find what you want, may have to join to buy, but it's usually easy. Also, there are other stores that'll have'm, like BJ's, Costco & Lowes maybe...
I bought mine at Sam's in Tennessee, & they have'm here in New Jersey as well, good hunting!! HTH, Dottie

There are a few types of shelving that work for tanks.

Here are a few ideas:

Scans. Went to some of those links u had. Nice shelves indeed.
Only problem I saw is the weight allowed depending on how many and what size tanks u using.

That is why I only put up Gorrilla as that is the best weight rack per unit price I've seen.

I've seen another link to some racks that were close to Gorrilla but can't remember link.

I liked this one u had.........

Yes, weight has to be taken into consideration. but a 29 gal only weighs 232lbs, a 55 is 440lbs. I do not know what tanks are being used or the desired layout but the math should be done to assure things hold up.

Hi Gang,

I have seen the Gorilla racks and they seem sturdy...but the best rack that I have seen is from Hawkeye Materials Handling. They can build a rack to your specs...length and width. The prices are also good...may even be cheaper and more sturdy than Gorilla racks. I currently have 10 racks from them and they are awesome.

Thing is if u are saving money on it and does same or better than gorrilla racks the shipping costs will get u. Gorrilla racks most can just go there and buy.

I agree though that having it built to your specs may make up for shipping cost considering u are making the best use of your space on the rack.

With any other system u are adapting to them.

If u had the money be cool to go your route.

This hobby is killing my wallet!

Big Als should go public and give me stock!

I actually believe this thread was started looking for racks for storage barrels ... lol ...... but many are looking into racks for tanks too .... like me.

i would love to see pics and dimensions of your racks and prices you paid for them and what size tanks you use on them. Hard to believe they would be cheaper and stronger than the gorilla racks. On that site the standard rack only holds 350 pounds and the heavy duty only 1600 pounds. Now the pallet racks are a different story but also more expensive.

Im interested to see what you got as im trying to figure the best route to go .............. Im very limited with the 48 x 18 rack i have and not utilizing the space as well as i could be.

Looks like they are located in iowa so shipping cost would definately be a factor but i like the idea of custom sizes.

Hi Cage,

I also have a great source for barrels...I call him "the barrel man"...for $20 each you can get as many 55 gallon barrels as you could ever want.

It's been some time since I got the racks...the best thing to do is to call them...there is a sales person there that can help you design exactly what you want...just tell them you are using the racks for fish tanks. For my 120G (5 ft long) tank, I use an extra support in the middle for strength. To save on shipping, I ordered just the frame and purchased my own particle board decking at Home Depot. The shipping on just the frame really wasn't bad at all. Also, I have tried one gorilla rack but found them not as sturdy as the ones I currently use from Hawkeye.

Thats why i would like to see some pics ............ some of the gorilla racks are not as strong as the one i got.

Mine has the z-bar shelf braces with double rivets and rolled beams for uprights and hold 2,000 each shelf.(and probably more with my added bracing). My shelves are also laminated that came with it instead of particle board.

Excellent quality for for $65 IMO ............ but being able to get custom sizes for the same price would definately be nice!

Ive seen others with just angle iron with holes for uprights and much weaker shelf braces.

Unfortunately theyre site does show detailed pics of the shelves.

I guess i can call them and see if they'll send me some pics and quote me some prices for custom sizes.

Is your rack for your 120 60 inches wide?
