Roberto,
I am going to get a reputaion for being non positive soon,
But how many rooms with sinks do you see that have carpet?
Convince the Wife that you need Tile or linoleum.
It is not that expensive if you do it yourself.
Sorry, I just spill so much water all the time that I
am probably looking too much for problems.
Best of Luck to you.
Paul.

Mr Limpet. I agree..I agree. but I started building stands and puttings tanks in that room and then ...it was too late to take the carpet out ..so now I have carpet..I am very careful but it always gets me sometimes (water spills that is ) I have a nice small rubber backing rug to put in front of the sink. That will help. I will post the final picrure when I finish my sink install.

Another option around sink would be those office chair plastic pads for your chair. I use one of those under my storage barrels. Works great.
It has the spikes to keep your footing good while working it won't move.

A drip tray like the ones that go under a washing machine might be a good idea and maybe some mylar or something waterproof on your walls near it.

You could also cut a section of carpet up where your sink is going and put linoleum or something down.

After thinking a little more about it, the sink might actually help contain spills that otherwise would happen. I am still thinking about adding a single sink to mine. They are very handy.
Good Luck,
Paul.
