the blue fish are actualy blue cobalts
BD's have red eyes.

I am surprised how happy the discus are under floating leaves, I did not deem this important in my previous tanks.

Cool tanks. I think the water lillies look good, how much light do you have? I see other plants are thriving with the lilly shade.

The angel-
the white one is 8 yrs old and is with me since he was the size of a small coin. the other one is 2 yrs old. the are XXL like 25 CN tall

the lighting is
54W *2 T5 bulbs
are 2*36 Pl or EL bulbs

the new technology refers to the previous tree about the Trace element impregnated vermiculite in the peat loam and pumice layer (tech talk for new fangled slow release minerals)

The filtration is 1 Project 1501 canister
1 Atman EF-4 canister
1 rena small canister (real old type)
1 power head and eheim diffuser
2 long airstones

non submerged heater on the pipe from the project to the tank.

i planted under the lilies only low light plants, hygrophila and anubias types, a bit cabomba.

As to power consumption
the T5 bulbs are really cost efficient compared to Metal halide...
costs me a-z about 12 USd $ a month
here in Israel a KW of elec costs about 12 US cents...

I have a few Banana Plants. the lilipads got so plentiful it started to kill the lower level plants for lack of light. I have to prune them.
