Hello everyone. I've been registered here for a few weeks and decided to post a thread. :)
I've been involved in fish practically my entire life and currently have a 65 gallon African Cichlid setup as well as a 10 gallon holding take for the fry the cichlids produce.

I now have decided to step up into the 'big leagues' and will be setting up a 125 gallon planted take running compressed CO2 and will be keeping discus, apisto's, cardinal and emperor tetra's, as well some other various fish/shrimp to keep things clean.

Well I attached two photo's of my 1st discus currently being held a 20 gallon qt tank till the 125 is completed. After a month or so of having these two discus in the 125 if all goes well, I will be adding about a dozen nicer looking discus. Perhaps some blue diamonds, red melons, leopards and turq's. I will post pics of my tank once it is complete. I have everything I need except the substrate which I have on order.

1st is Royal Blue about 3.25"

2nd is a Pigeon Blood about 3"

Photo's taken in my "photo tank" with a black exterior painted background using a Canon 20D, 18-55mm EF-S lens with Hoya +2 diopter, 550EX Speedlite and 420EX Speedlite both with diffusers. Photoshop used to clean up any floating debris (which stands out well against the black background).
Oh and photography is a mainstay of my job, so I will also post pics of the fish once added to my 125.

Welcome to Simply!

That is neat how you have a "photo tank". That would really work good. It takes alot of time to get a good picture. Thank goodness for digital cameras. :D

Once you get your 125 planted up and going, post some pictures of it. All our tanks are bb but there is alot on the forum that do have planted tanks. You could also look thru the photo gallery at pictures of planted tanks to see how they are set up, etc.
