Water softer pillows

Water Softer pillows from Doc Wellfishs, have anyone tried it? My city water GH is hight... I'm using Water Softer Pillows and it help. Whenever time need to recharge, they recommend Doc Wellfish salt. I just what different in regular rock salt and Doc Well Salt?

All of these water pillows are resin based. Any old salt will re-charge them. The reason they recommend their own is they'll make more money that way.

imo it is better to invest in an RO unit to soften the water.

You only need to do this for spawning. For raising discus, forget the pillows. They'll grow better with hard water. Save your $$ and get high quality fish.
