Shrimp in BB

can a shrimp live in a bb tank with some wood and potted plants????

Well, I'm not a shrimp expert but I'd think the answer might depend on what kind of shrimp you're interested in. I've heard that bamboo shrimp need a substrate to feel comfortable and that they can die of stress in a bare tank.

But I don't know. I have two bamboo shrimp in a quarantine tank right now and they rarely come down to the floor of the tank; they spend most of their time hanging onto plastic plants, as close the the current from the filter as they can get. I'm planning on putting them into a 29-gallon tank with two discus, a thin layer of gravel and fake plants. My theory is that with frequent wc's and cleaning of the tank walls, there will be enough debris and sediment kicked up to keep the shrimp fed. We shall see.
