Eco complete, Flourite, Onyx sand. Onxy sand may raise your PH depending on your water parameters. They all work well in a planted tank, pick a color that suits you. Some mix these with other products like soilmaster, I have mixed soilmaster/Onyx sand and like the results. Some use sand purchased at the local home improvement store, research the pro/cons if you consider using fine grain sand in a planted tank.....DC

Coarse grade sand, flourite, gravel. Sometimes a mix. One of my tanks has gravel over soil/eco complete mix, works well for me. I prefer natural colours.

I have flourite in my 90g planted show tank with discus, and i have white silica sand in my 125g show tank. The sand is much easier to clean, but not as good for planting in. I only have plants tied to driftwood in the sand bottom tank.
