I am thinking about having a planted discus tank, and was wondering if liquid plant food could be added, and if it is , what is the best????

Keeping a planted tank is complicated, more complicated than keeping discus. It isn't as easy as just adding ferts to feed your plants.

I do have planted tanks that are doing OK. But i never had Discus before>

If you are asking what ferts are Dicsus safe, I use PMDD, TMG, and excel keping TDS monitored....DC
