Marie,
I feel ALL new fish should be QT'd. I really like otos they are very good at cleaning algae, if you have any. (I don't :-p ) As you already know BN's are another good choice. Stay away from SAE's (Siamese Algae Eaters) they can get territorial. I have common plecos and they work well until they get older.
All of mine, even the older ones, LOVE zucchini, including the oto's.

QT 6 weeks but you already knew that. And I'd get them for all the tanks, they do a great job. 2 in each tank, probably? And get them small too, they are little eating machines at that size. Maybe also a couple of cories to keep the substrate clean and stirred up.

Ooo, look for long finned ones too. They look so cool. We have none to speak of here!!

Marie, qt all fish :) no ifs, buts, maybes or exceptions. BN plecs or L-Plecs do a good job. L-Plecs can get expensive. Don't get the common plec, although its one of my favourite fish (strange I know but...) every single one I've ever owned has developed the taste.

Marie,

Definitely yes on the quarantine. Also, plecos get different sizes and take different conditions (a lot enjoy current). Here's a link to more info on different types:

http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/index.php

and further in the link on plecos:

I've found some like to hide during the day and some are better on algae than others. Bristlenoses are great on algae but can hide during the day (they'll probably like those caves). Also, have a piece of real driftwood in the tank for them to chew.

Just found a good article on the differences of "worker" plecos and those for "show" LOL.

I've seen some albino plecos with discus and they look beautiful. Best thing is they don't grow to be too big either.(I was told)

Hello Marie - any chance you can ask Debbie to "breed" us some? I don't need many maybe like 80 of them for 30 tanks or so in my garage. Thanks in advance.

LOL
