Some useful information can be gotten by just know the dimensions of your aquarium. This is meant to be a guide only in assisting you in determining your tanks, volume, approximate weight, heater, lighting and filter requirements. It is based on a normally stocked tank.
Be sure and use the inside dimensions of your aquarium when submitting the information required.(for rectangular aquariums only). I am going to be adding standard aquarium sizes here shortly to make your selection easier. I am also working on a weight estimator that would include gravel.
Enter the Length of your Aquarium here (in inches) = in.
Enter the Width of your Aquarium here (in inches) = in.
Enter the Height of your Aquarium here (in inches) = in.

Volume and Weight

Your aquarium can hold gallons of Water. If we assume the water level in your aquarium is 1 inch below the top then the total gallons would be .

Lighting
You will need watts of lighting for plants with low light requirements, watts for Plants with medium light requirements and watts for plants with high light requirements.

Heater
You are going to need a heater (s) with a total capacity of watts (Double this if you are in a cold room or basement.

Filtering
You will need a filter with a flow capacity between and gallons per hour.

Nice site.
If you want to do the water volume calculation youself then use:
LxWxH= Total Volume in cubic inches
Total Volume x 0.0043 = US gallons

Be sure to use inside measurements for most accuracy.

the one that i have always used is L x H x W (in inches) divide by 231

that's just if you don't want to remember 0.0043
